LAGOS IN PARIS
"SINATANALE"
Phenomenal Sinatanale by LAGOS IN PARIS is our Music Video of the Week. Co-directed by LAGOS IN PARIS & Romain Argento, produced by LAGOS IN PARIS.
French-based director Romain, who also edited the piece, constructs a quiet narrative of resilience and intent. The visuals unfold with restraint, guiding the viewer through a sequence that feels both composed and emotionally immediate. There’s a clarity to the framing – each shot considered, each movement deliberate – letting the story surface without force.
The piece is co-directed by Lagos is Paris themselves – a West African collective quietly reshaping the contours of electronic music. Composed of artists, producers, and performers, the group moves beyond fusion, leaning instead into a form that feels both ancient and forward-facing. Their sound – anchored in rhythm, filtered through machines – is sparse, intentional, and emotionally resonant. Afro-electro, but stripped of ornament. What remains is something raw, spacious, and quietly transformative.
LAGOS IN PARIS stands strong – we can’t wait to see what they do next.
